Preparing for a devotional meeting
This is the first in a series of images which will form the body of work simply titled Bahá’í and will be a long term project.
This series of photos is from a devotional meeting organised by Wendi Momen, who is a Bahá’í and a former member of the National Spiritual  Assembly of Bahá’ ís of the United Kingdom. Devotional meetings are open to Bahá’ ís  and non Bahá’ ís
The Bahá’í’s
The Bahá’í faith is still very young but in just over one hundred and fifty years it has now become the second most widespread after christianity. It’s origins were in Iran around 1844 and it was founded by Bahá’u’lláh ( meaning the glory of god), who spent most of his life in exile. According to the Bahá’í comunity of the UK there are over five million Bahá’í’s in 235 countries and teritories around the world. The Bahá’í’s believe that humanity is a single race with a common destiny.
