We know that there is mass poverty in the developing world but as the gap forever widens between the wealthy and the poor, even in the UK the standard of living for some is below basic.

The royal borough of Windsor in Berkshire would be considered an affluent area with it’s most famouse resident being Elizabeth II, here I came across a man too intoxicated to speak and with all his worldly belongings in a black bin bag beside him. The church provided shelter from the elements and perhaps some comfort, although I am not sure if he was trying to pray even though his gestures seemed that way.

Recently in the news we have seen medical aid taken to communities in the USA unable to afford private health care and recent statistics from UNICEF show that 25% of South Eastern European children live in absolute poverty. Companies are still laying off staff with the highest jobless rate being Latvia with 22.8% and second is Spain at 19.5%

Windsor parish church provides some warmth and comfort to a homeless man who has all his belonings in a bin liner beside him.

What could be more spectacular in appearance than a teenagers bedroom

In January 2010 the whole of the UK was covered in a thick blanket of snow which brought the country to it’s knees. The public transport systems failed, schools were shut for days and roads came to a standstill ( some motorists were stranded in their cars for hours ) . Local authorities started running out of salt and grit and had little or no snow plowing equipment and even the channel tunnel was disrupted, all over the country there were stories of stranded shoppers sleeping in shopping malls and temperatures plummeted to record lows of minus 22 Celsius…
